the missing dog has been RECOVERED or FOUND by a CITIZEN.

When a missing Dog is Shy, Timid, Aloof, Reserved or Skittish,(STARS), it is possible that...
the missing Dog is ROAMING and is wandering at large.

When a dog disappears with no visible evidence of escape or there is evidence of foul play, it is possible that...
the missing dog is experiencing a STOLEN DOG scenario.

When a dog goes missing and there are high risk and dangerous elements in the area, it is possible that...
the Dog MET With an ACCIDENT

When a dog goes missing without a trace and there are sheds, open garages, wells, mines, etc. in the area...
This dog may be experiencing ACCIDENTAL ENTRAPMENT or is otherwise trapped and cannot get out.

If there was construction trucks, moving vans or other vehicles with open doors or windows in the area when the dog went missing and the dog likes to ride in vehicles...
The dog may have been ACCIDENTALLY TRANSPORTED

When a dog goes missing in an area where there is open space access, woods, fields, wildlife preserves and/or predators are known to frequent within a mile of the location...
one should consider THE PREDATOR THREAT.

When a dog goes missing and there is reason to believe that animal control or an individual known or unknown to the pet owner, may have removed the dog intentionally from the area...
INTENTIONAL DISPLACEMENT is a possible consideration.

The Roaming Dog

 My dog is an escape artist but loves people. Consider

A Roaming Dog Scenario is more probable for this Houdini.

 My tiny dog is not afraid of anything and I live in a rural area. Many mighty little ones go on the
Roam but a consideration should be given to a Predator situation.

 My dog is aloof or reserved with strangers.
The Roaming Dog is a distinct possibility

 My dog was not feeling well before she went missing. It is possible that this dog is experiencing
CIP.

 My dog is very curious and we have a hazardous nuisance nearby. Consider that the dog may be
Trapped.

 My dog loves to ride in cars and vehicles. Consider your dog may allow a
Recovery by a Citizen or possibly could be Accidentally Transported.

 My dog was found as frightened stray before I adopted her from a rescue or shelter. Consider
The Roaming Dog as a possibility.

My dog loves to chase deer, squirrel, game. Many scenarios must be considered for this dog but for those ardent hunters,
The Roaming Dog is probable.

My dog has been through obedience training. Based on our experience, dogs that have obedience training are more likely to
Recovered by Citizen unless they are extremely shy. Dogs with a STARS profile, (Shy, Timid, Aloof, Reserved or Skittish) are most likely to experience a Roaming Dog Scenario.

My dog is a puppy mill survivor. Consider
The Roaming Dog at Large for dogs with this history.

My dog is timid and can be skittish. A
Roaming Dog scenario is probable.
