The Sand Circle is used when motion sensor cameras are not available or there are numerous areas you want to monitor. Motion sensor cameras are the preferred method of surveillance whenever possible. The Sand Circle is an inexpensive option that will allow you to see at least see what type of animal is frequenting your feeding station. It will not however identify one dog from another.

What you will need:

· At least one bag of fine grain playground sand
· Paint Brush to smooth the surface of the sand
· Spray bottle with water
· Bowl for the bait food

You will build a circle of sand approximately 36 inches in circumference and one inch thick as shown above.

Once the sand is in place, spray the sand with the water and brush the top sandy layer smooth so you can see any prints left by      animals that come to your feeding station.

Place the food bowl in the very center of the sand circle so animals will have to step in the sand to eat the food.

You will not be able to tell which animal specifically has come  but will be able to tell species and size.
